Bayern Munich are still trying to convince Canadian left-back Alphonso Davies to extend his contract with the club.
Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed the club are not relenting in their efforts to convince Alphonso Davies to sign a new contract, Ufabet reported on Tuesday.
Davies’ contract is due to expire in the summer of 2025 amid links with Real Madrid, who are keen to exploit the player’s contract situation to sign the 23-year-old left-back on a low fee.
But Bayern Munich are determine to keep hold of the player despite the risk of losing Davies on a free transfer next summer and are hoping to convince him to agree a new deal.
‘There have been discussions and he is now on holiday and the door is not close. The important thing is that he had a good pre-season and is regaining his form. In the last few years he has become an important player,’ Freud said of Davis.
Real Madrid are in no rush to sign Davies, Promotion ufabet with Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia also available at left-back, while Los Blancos also have the option to sign Girona’s 23-year-old left-back Miguel Gutierrez if they wish.
Davies has a contract with Bayern until 2025, and the club knows they either have to renew his contract or sell him this summer to get the most out of his transfer. Real Madrid has entered the scene with a lower offer, far from the 54 million that the German club is asking for.
The white club won’t go to extremes to sign Davies, who could, like Mbappé, join for free in 2025 once his contract with Bayern expires. Now, the decision is up to Alphonso.
